I feel deeply honored to welcome you all to the 36th convention of Osmania Gandhi Kakatiya & Telangana Medical Alumni Association of America (OGKTMA) September 15-16th at the Renaissance Dallas Addison hotel in Addison, Texas.
OGKTMA is one of the most prestigious and respected organizations in United States, represented by thoughtful and great minds from the medical schools in the state of Telangana. The association dedicates its focus on a forum for scientific, educational, cultural, charitable and social interaction among the alumni members, which develop into discussions, plans and actions to improve healthcare.
Our alumni members have always maintained strong roots with their alma maters and have contributed to many impactful programs including building medical alumni centers, building renovations, developing electronic libraries and installing automatic defibrillators for the first time in public ambulances the state of Telangana. Our alumni leadership promptly responded to the oxygen and medical equipment shortages during the COVID-19 crisis and provided more than 400 oxygen concentrators other life-saving equipment to various government and nonprofit hospitals and distributed high-quality PPE supplies to the house staff.
OGKTMA successfully conducted the first KMC research day in 2023 attracting medical students from all over India to present their research activities. The alumni members have been conducting virtual didactic lectures to medical students in the state of Telangana. It has been a delight and privilege serving as President of OGKTMA in 2023. I am incredibly thankful to my executive committee, Board of Trustees and regional directors and all the alumni members for their constant support and guidance. I am also grateful to my Dallas organizing & Advisory team for their time, dedication and efforts to make this event successful. Working alongside this amazing group has taught me the true value of leadership and teamwork.
Thank you all for taking part in this year’s convention. I hope you can all gain strength from each other to further OGKTMA’s dedication to continue our mission and serve the community.
